The Evening Post: Anniston Election Results

Tonight was a great night for the City of Anniston.  I am humming that song right now from The Black Eyed Peas called I Gotta Feeling.  Tonight gonna be a good, good night!

Vaughn Stewart won the mayor race in Anniston without a runoff.  That is very impressive considering there was 11 mayor candidates running for mayor.  Vaughn Stewart got 2,746 votes or 55% of the vote.  Ann Welch was second with 856 votes or 18% of the vote.  The current mayor Gene Robinson only got 337 votes or 3% of the vote.  This is only the start of this great night!  Ben Little lost his race in Ward 3 against Seyram Selase by a 2-to-1 margin!  And Herbert Palmore lost his race in Ward 2 as well!  So the voters in Anniston today said enough to the corrupt politics in the City of Anniston.  And soon the winners will be sworn in and the real work can begin!

Hopefully the first step will be recruiting new businesses and jobs into Anniston. Because I am getting tired sitting here every day at the apartment being unemployed for 14 months.  All of this good news is also making me think of a famous movie clip.  You know in The Wizard of Oz in Munchkin Land where they celebrate that the wicked witch is dead.  I think this movie clip is perfect timing for the election results in Anniston right now.
